South Tzoumerka

South Tzoumerka

The northern and central areas of tzoumerka are better known, but the southern region is definitely worth 2 to 3 days of your stay in tzoumerka. The Achelos River marks the southern border between Tsumerka and the Agrafa and Trikala provinces. Here you'll find a variety of waterfalls and springs flowing from the mountains in South Tsumerka into the Achelos River. Enjoy any of several trails through the forest, which lead to waterfalls that have uniquely carved through the rock. South Tsumerka is also a relatively well populated area. This means that every village you reach lets you taste the authentic local life. The largest village in South tzoumerka is Vourgareli, an excellent base from which to set out on treks in the area. We especially recommend Rema Marks, or the Bath’s Captain, although there are plenty of choices. Hotel owners there are happy to provide you with plenty of information about the trails and treks.
